HIGH WIRE
Ashley is an international circus artist, touring both internationally & within Australia. Ashley gained international recognition, setting three world records on the wire and in 1991 he competed at the prestigious Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris earning a special award.
Ashley won the gold medal at the “2017 Australian Circus Festival” with his ‘Captain Jack’ pirate themed high wire act. He has also appeared as a finalist on Australia’s Got Talent in 2009 and was featured in the tv show Australia’s Got Amazing Talent in 2011.
Balancing on the tightwire is what one would expect from a performance by Ashley but he is well known for pushing boundaries and not only balances but jumps, skips, dances & even walks across on stilts! Yes, you heard me right! And finishing with a dramatic backflip off the wire onto the floor below, will make you feel completely inadequate.
Ashley performs a variety of characters (but not limited to) Blues Brothers - The Christmas Grinch – Captain Jack (Pirate) - The Matador (Spanish). The style & theme can also be adapted to suit any event.
The wire is 2.2 meters high on a self supported rig (no anchors or weights needed) which makes it easy peasy to set up for most events. With a small tech run it rolls in on casters and unfolds for performance in 30 seconds. A floor space of 6m x 4m & height of 5m is required for this act. Backstage storage 6m x 1m x height 2.2m.
